Trick or Treat at New Dawn.............

My daughter Morgan works at New Dawn and they have an annual Halloween party for the staff and their families every Haloween. We went there last night and it was Jadyn's third year going. Here are some pics that I wanted to share from last night.

Morgan and Jadyn in front of the fireplace in the entrance....

Playing one of the games............

Candy? What candy???

Trying on Nana's glasses..........

And the first time being a winner in the most original category for costume judging! She shook her pompoms when they asked for applause for the little cheerleader and everyone thought was so cute. Little do they know that she can really put on a cheerleading demo like no other 2 1/2 year old........LOL And if she had.........they would all still be sitting there as her audience.........just ask her Aunt Joycee!

We stopped at Aunt Joycee afterwards and she spoiled Jadyn since she never gets trick or treaters so Jadyn got all the candy in the candy bowl! Can you tell how much Jadyn loves her Aunt Joycee??

Joycee and Jadyn feeding Goo puppy her treats..........

Here's a few pics of her first two Halloween's attending the New Dawn party. The first one she was only 7 months old and in a stroller with her monkey suit........

Getting candy from one of the residents that year.......

And last year she was a little chicken..........

They grow up so fast.......it seems like just yesterday that we were pusing her down those hallways in her stroller.

I hope you all have a safe and fun filled Halloween!

Spooky Prospect Place Pictures................

Prospect Place is the 29 room mansion built by abolitionist George Willison Adams at Dresden, Ohio, in 1856. It is the home of the non profit G. W. Adams Educational Center, Inc. located in the Village of Trinway, Ohio, just 1/2 mile north of Dresden.

Prospect Place was a station on the "Underground Railroad" and was used to safely move escaped slaves to freedom. The property is listed on the National Historic Register as the "George Willison Adams House."

Prospect Place mansion is one of the most haunted homes in Ohio. With 150 years of paranormal history including sightings and strange activity this Dickensian mansion stands forebodingly in the rural Ohio countryside. They offer a complete paranormal experience for those willing - spend the night, sleep in one of our meticulously restored guestrooms and expect to be surprised by the more permanent residents (some of whom have been here for a very long time).

Two of my friends and I went down to tour the house last summer and these are some of the pictures that I took while we were there........

These are pictures of the outside of the barn.........

So much history and you can just picture what it must have looked like over 100 years ago..........

The sci-fi television show "Ghost Hunters" visited this same house and it aired back in April of this year.........

The side view of the house.........

This is the view looking out of the back of the copula...........

Pics from up in the ballroom on the third floor..........

The view looking through the door leading out from the second floor hallway......

Pics from inside the barn that is said to be haunted by the ghost of the bounty hunter that was hung from the rafters on the second story of the barn........

The arches in the bottom of the barn where the horses were kept.........

The decorative trim above the windows is made of cast iron......

Not all of the original shutters have survived over the years.......

These wooden corbels are just huge! I kept thinking.....what if one of them comes loose and falls?

The front of the house. The original porch is missing.........

What's more perfect for Halloween than a haunted house????

This Past Weekend's Show Display.............

I thought I would share some pics of our set up in the hallway from this past weekend's show. We were set up in the hallway outside of the cafeteria. So we really got to spread out. We kept our display right up against the lockers so our customers could see easier and with it all spread out, they had more room to view things without having people standing in their way.

Some little prim dollies in our black cradle........

Our awesome podium that we take to shows. A special thank you to Stacey or Tattered 'n Torn Prims and her hubby for custom making this for us several years back. I purchased the vintage ceiling tin tile off of eBay. It came from a saloon in Montana! See Joycee's Mischief black cat sitting up there for all to admire?

There's Penelope standing there! Lots of people bought tickets for a chance to win her at the show..........

Prim goodies, Mercantile Gatherings magazines in the fall basket and Laura's stacked pumpkin blocks. Those little block sayings in the bowl were a hit! They have the cutest sayings on them!

You can see how long our dispay was in this pic...........

A special THank You to Joycee, Memo, Laura, Lincoln and Riley for helping us haul in, set up, and tear down! We got it all done in record time!! YEAH!!!

Our Ohio State Buckeyes section was very popular with the shoppers there.......

Our black Halloween tree with little prim ornies. Best comment of the show overheard by Memo...."Oh.....it's a black tree.........Oh, it's a halloween tree................Oh, that's wrong............that's just all wrong." Some people just don't get it! I should write a book on all the overheard comments made at shows.........LOL!

Our vintage door with our ceiling tin tile star. We also use vintage shutters to hang things from. Why is it that everyone always wants to by our display pieces? LOL

Joycee's newest style dolls are sitting on top of the cupboard. They are paper clay over cloth and I'm trying to talk her into listing at least one on eBay. Leave your comments on this post to try to convince her too. She thinks people won't like them because they are different than her other dolls. Let's all convince her otherwise............

Show sales were down from last year, but we expected that with everything that is going on with the economy and this being election year too.

Wish you all could have came to see us! Remember that our Village Gift Shoppe Fall Open House is this weekend too! We hope you have time to stop by and see us at 106 N. Walnut Street in historical Gnadenhutten, OH. We'll have free door prizes and refreshments for all!

And don't forget to sign up for a chance to win Miss Penelope pumpkin. Tickets are 50 cents each or 3 for $1.00. We'll draw the lucky winners name on Sunday October 19th at the end of the day when we draw the door prize winners names..........
